Car

If you are driving from Bucharest, take the A3 motorway towards Ploiești. Continue on DN1 towards Brașov. After passing through the town of Bușteni, look for signs that indicate Poiana Izvoarelor. Turn left onto the unpaved road that leads up into the mountains. The drive takes approximately 2 hours. Be prepared for narrow and winding roads. There is no entry fee for the area, but ensure your vehicle is suitable for mountain roads.

Public Transportation

Take a train from Bucharest to Bușteni. Trains run frequently from Gara de Nord station. Once you arrive at Bușteni station, you can either take a taxi or hike towards Poiana Izvoarelor. The hike is approximately 6 kilometers and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry sufficient water. Taxis are available at the station and should cost around 20-30 RON to take you to the trailhead.

Hiking

For those already in the Bucegi Mountains, if you are near the Bușteni area, you can start your hike directly from the town. Head towards the DN1 road and locate the marked hiking trails leading to Poiana Izvoarelor. The hike should take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.
