Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Bușteni. Drive along the DN1 road towards the direction of the Bucegi Mountains. After approximately 5 km, you will reach the Bucegi Cable Car station (Telecabina Bucegi). Park your car in the designated parking area as you will need to take the cable car to reach the Sphinx. The cable car ride costs around 60 RON for a round trip. Once you arrive at the top station, follow the marked trail towards Babele. The Sphinx is a short hike (about 30 minutes) from the Babele area, clearly marked along the path.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a train from Bucharest to Bușteni. Trains run regularly from Gara de Nord station. Upon arrival in Bușteni, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) to the Bucegi Cable Car station or take a taxi. Once at the cable car station, purchase a round-trip ticket (approx. 60 RON) and take the cable car to the top. After disembarking, follow the marked trails to reach the Sphinx, which is about a 30-minute hike from the Babele area.
