Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea. Head southeast on DN7 towards Călimănești. Continue on DN7 for approximately 16 km until you reach the intersection with DJ703A. Turn right onto DJ703A. After about 8 km, you will see signs for Cheile Cheii. Follow the signs to Drumul Cheii. The parking area is available near the entrance to the hiking area. Note: There may be a small parking fee, so keep some change handy.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Râmnicu Vâlcea to Călimănești. Buses frequently depart from the central bus station. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once in Călimănești, you can catch a local taxi or arrange for a ride to Cheile Cheii, which is approximately 8 km away. Alternatively, if you prefer to hike, you can follow the trails from Călimănești to reach Cheile Cheii, but be prepared for a longer trek.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Râmnicu Vâlcea or Călimănești. The ride from Râmnicu Vâlcea will take about 30 minutes and can cost around 100-150 RON. From Călimănești, the taxi ride will be shorter and cost less, typically around 30-50 RON. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
