Walking
Start at the Butare City Center (Place de la Paix). Head south on Avenue du Général de Gaulle towards Avenue de l’Indépendance. After about 500 meters, turn left onto Avenue de l’Indépendance. Continue walking for another 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Révolution. Turn right onto Avenue de la Révolution and walk for approximately 1 kilometer until you see signs for Rugalika. At this point, take a left onto the road heading towards Rugalika. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach WXXM+P5R, where the Crocodile Zone is located. The area is known for its wildlife and natural beauty.

From Butare City Center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Take a minibus heading towards Rugalika (ask locals for the specific bus number). The journey should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Rugalika, ask the driver to drop you off near WXXM+P5R. From there, you may need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the Crocodile Zone, following local signs or asking for directions along the way.
