Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the center of Butare, head south towards the main road (Avenue de la Révolution). Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Avenue du 1er Novembre. Turn right onto Avenue du 1er Novembre and keep walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the sign for Nyanza. Follow the signs indicating Nyanza, which will lead you onto the road towards Rukali. Continue for approximately 2 kilometers, and you will see the Nyanza Tourism Information Centre on your right, just before entering the main town of Nyanza.

From the Butare town center, rent a bicycle and head south on Avenue de la Révolution. After about 500 meters, take a right onto Avenue du 1er Novembre. Continue cycling for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection that points towards Nyanza. Follow the signs, cycling straight for approximately 2 kilometers. The Nyanza Tourism Information Centre will be located on your right side as you approach Rukali.
