If you are driving, the Museum of Environment is located in Kibuye, Western Province. From Kigali, take the RN1 road towards Rubavu. After approximately 90 km, you will reach the town of Kibuye. Follow the signs to Kibuye and then look for signs directing you to the museum. The museum is situated near the shores of Lake Kivu, offering beautiful views. Parking is available on-site.

To reach the Museum of Environment using public transportation, take a bus from Kigali to Kibuye. Buses leave frequently from the Nyabugogo bus station. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours. Once you arrive in Kibuye, you can take a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) to the museum, which should cost around 1,000 RWF. Make sure to tell the driver you want to go to the Museum of Environment near Lake Kivu.
