Car
From Byumba town center, head south on the main road (RN 6) towards the town of Ngarama. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Turn left onto the road leading to Murumba. Continue for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the base of Murumba Mountain. Parking is available at the base, and from here, you can start your hike to the peak.

Public Transportation
To reach Murumba by public transportation, first take a moto-taxi or walk to the Byumba bus station. Look for a bus or shared taxi heading towards Ngarama. The fare should be around 500 Rwandan Francs (RWF). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the junction leading to Murumba. Once you arrive at the junction (about 10 kilometers from Byumba), you will need to hire a moto-taxi for the remaining 5 kilometers to the base of Murumba Mountain. The moto-taxi fare will be around 1000 RWF. Upon arrival, you can start your hike to the peak.

Once you reach the base of Murumba Mountain, there are several trails available for hiking. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and carry water, as the hike can be challenging.
