Car
From the center of Cyangugu, head towards Gitesi. Take the Avenue de la Paix and continue straight until you reach the main junction. At the junction, turn left onto the road signposted for Gitesi. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers. As you approach Gitesi, look for a sign indicating Iliza Houseboat. The houseboat is located at W8VW+WF4, Gitesi. There is limited parking available near the dock.
Public Transportation (Moto-taxi)
In Cyangugu, you can find moto-taxis near the main market or along the Avenue de la Paix. Inform the driver that you want to go to Iliza Houseboat in Gitesi. The journey should take about 15 minutes and cost around 1,000 RWF. Make sure to negotiate the fare before you start your ride.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer to take a bus, head to the main bus station in Cyangugu. Look for a bus heading towards Gitesi. The fare is usually around 500 RWF. Once you arrive in Gitesi, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach Iliza Houseboat. Follow the main road until you see the signs directing you to the houseboat. Alternatively, you can hire a moto-taxi from the bus drop-off point to the houseboat for about 500 RWF.
