Car
From Gikongoro, head northeast on the main road towards Kigali. This route is approximately 150 km. Follow the signs to Kigali, and you will be traveling along the RN2 highway. As you enter Kigali, keep an eye out for the city center signs. Once you reach the city, look for KG 14 Avenue. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is located on KG 14 Ave in the Kumukenke area. From Gikongoro, you can take a bus to Kigali. Head to the main bus station in Gikongoro to catch a bus heading to Kigali. The bus ride will take around 3-4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you arrive at Nyabugogo bus terminal in Kigali, you can either take a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'moto') or a taxi to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The taxi ride should cost around 2000 to 3000 Rwandan Francs. If you choose a motorcycle taxi, it will be cheaper (about 1000 to 1500 Rwandan Francs), but ensure you wear a helmet and follow safety precautions.

Once you are in Kigali, you can use motorcycle taxis (motos) to navigate the city. Simply let the driver know you want to go to the Kigali Genocide Memorial on KG 14 Avenue. The ride from Nyabugogo bus terminal to the memorial should cost around 1500 to 2000 Rwandan Francs and take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
