Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Gisenyi, head northwest towards Avenue de la Paix. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Avenue du Lac. Turn left onto Avenue du Lac and walk towards the lakeshore. As you walk, you will pass several local shops and cafes. After about 15 minutes, you will reach the main road (N4). Cross the road and continue walking up the hill towards the Rubavu district. Follow the signs that indicate the direction to Nengo Mountain. This path will take you through some residential areas. After approximately 30 minutes of walking uphill, you will start to see the base of Nengo Mountain ahead. Continue until you reach the foot of the mountain.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to rent a bicycle in Gisenyi, start by heading towards Avenue de la Paix. From there, cycle northwest until you reach Avenue du Lac. Turn left and cycle along the lakeshore. Once you reach the main road (N4), carefully cross to the other side. Continue cycling uphill towards Rubavu district. The route will have some inclines, so be prepared for a workout. After about 20-25 minutes, you will arrive at the foot of Nengo Mountain. Be cautious of traffic, especially on the main road.

  • Motorbike Taxi (Mopeds)
