    Getting There

    Walking

    Start your journey from the center of Gisenyi. Head towards the main road, Avenue du Lac. Walk along this road heading southeast for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Républic. Turn left onto Avenue de la Républic and continue walking straight for another 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and cafes, giving you a taste of Gisenyi's vibrant culture. Keep an eye out for signs leading to the Congo Nile Trail as you approach the outskirts of the town.

    Walking

    After reaching the intersection where you see signs for the Congo Nile Trail, turn right onto the trail. Follow the well-marked path which will take you through beautiful scenery. The trail is relatively easy to navigate, and you will see several locals along the way. Continue on this trail for approximately 2 kilometers, and you will eventually hear the sound of the waterfalls in the distance.

    As you approach the Cyimbiri Waterfalls, you will need to take a slight detour off the main path. Look for a small sign indicating the direction to the waterfalls. This will lead you down a short, steep path. Be careful as the terrain can be a bit slippery. After a few minutes of walking down this path, you will arrive at the breathtaking Cyimbiri Waterfalls.
