Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Gishwati-Mukura National Park. Head towards the town of Rubavu. The route will take you along the N4 road, which is well-marked. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Rubavu. Once in Rubavu, look for signs directing you towards Nyamyumba Hot Springs. The destination is located at the coordinates 775F+V9R. You can use a GPS device or a navigation app to guide you directly to the hot springs.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) or bus from the nearest town, which is likely to be Gisenyi. From Gisenyi, catch a matatu heading towards Rubavu. The fare is typically around 500 RWF. Once you arrive in Rubavu, you can either walk to the hot springs, which is about 5 kilometers from the city center, or hire a local taxi for approximately 2,000-3,000 RWF to take you directly to Nyamyumba Hot Springs.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from Rubavu, take the main road towards Nyamyumba. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and should take about an hour. As you walk, keep an eye out for local landmarks and ask residents for directions if needed.
