    From the center of Gitarama, head west on Avenue de la Révolution towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the junction with Route Nationale 1. Turn left onto Route Nationale 1 and drive for approximately 5 km until you see the signs for Colline Ibanda. Follow the signs, turning right onto the road leading towards Colline Ibanda. After about 3 km, you will see a sign for Bigugu Hiking Trail on your right. Parking is available near the trailhead.

    Starting from Gitarama bus station, take a minibus (known locally as a 'taxi-vac') heading towards Huye. Inform the conductor that you would like to get off at Colline Ibanda. The fare is typically around RWF 500. Once you arrive at Colline Ibanda, ask locals for directions to Bigugu Hiking Trail, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the drop-off point. Follow the dirt path that leads into the hills until you reach the trailhead.
