Car
If you're driving from Gitarama, head north on the RN15 road. Continue on RN15 for about 10 kilometers. You'll pass through some small towns and countryside. Look for signs indicating Mbyo as you approach. The village is located directly off the RN15. There is parking available nearby, but be cautious of local traffic and pedestrians.
Public Transportation
To reach Mbyo Reconciliation Village by public transport, go to the Gitarama bus station and look for a bus heading toward Nyamabuye or Kamonyi. Buses usually run every 30 minutes. Inform the driver you want to get off at Mbyo. The fare is generally around 500 Rwandan Francs. Once you reach Mbyo, the village is a short walk from the main road. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions.
Walking
If you're already in the town center of Gitarama and prefer to walk, you can follow the RN15 road heading north. It is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour walk. Be sure to stay on the path as it can get busy with traffic. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenic views of the Rwandan countryside. Keep hydrated and wear comfortable shoes.
