Car
From Gitarama, head south on the RN1 road towards Huye. After approximately 30 km, look for the sign for Nyungwe National Park. Turn left onto the road leading to the park entrance. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the Uwinka Visitor Center. The center is located at G6C2+H43 in Colline Ibanda. Parking is available at the center.
Public Transportation
From Gitarama, take a bus heading towards Huye. Buses depart frequently from the main bus station. Inform the conductor that you wish to get off at the Nyungwe National Park entrance. After approximately 30 km, disembark at the park entrance. From there, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) to take you to Uwinka Visitor Center, which is about 15 km away. Expect to pay around 3000 RWF for the moto ride.
Taxi
If you prefer a more private option, you can hire a taxi from Gitarama to Uwinka Visitor Center. The journey is about 45 km and will take approximately 1 hour. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting the trip; it typically costs around 15,000 to 20,000 RWF depending on negotiation.
