Walking
If you are starting from the center of Karongi, head towards the main road (A1). Walk towards Kibuye, which is approximately 4 kilometers away. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Kibuye. Once you reach Kibuye, continue walking straight along the lakeside road and keep an eye out for the Museum of Environment, which is near the waterfront. It should be clearly marked.
Bicycle
From central Karongi, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Head towards the main road (A1) and cycle towards Kibuye, which is about 4 kilometers away. Enjoy the scenic route along the lakeside. Once in Kibuye, follow the lakeshore until you see the Museum of Environment. It's close to the water's edge and well-signposted.
Motorbike Taxi (Taxi Moto)
In Karongi, you can easily find taxi motos. Just flag one down and tell the driver 'Museum of Environment' or 'Kibuye'. The journey is short, around 10-15 minutes, and the drivers are familiar with the area. They will take you directly to the museum's entrance.
Public Transport (Bus)
For public transport, head to the nearest bus station in Karongi and look for a bus heading to Kibuye. The journey typically takes around 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Kibuye, you can walk to the Museum of Environment, which is located along the lakeside. Just follow the road towards the water and you will find the museum.
