Getting There

Walking

From the center of Karongi, head towards the lakeside path which runs parallel to Lake Kivu. Walk along the lakeside for about 10 minutes until you reach a small pier. At the pier, you will see signs directing you towards Kibuye. Follow the signs and continue walking along the lakeside path for another 15-20 minutes. The Museum of Environment in Kibuye will be on your left, right by the water's edge.
Bicycle

If you have rented a bicycle, start from the main market area in Karongi. Head towards the road leading to the lakeshore. Once you reach the lakeside road, turn left and cycle along the shore. It’s a scenic route and you’ll pass by several local shops and cafes. Continue cycling for about 30 minutes until you reach Kibuye. The Museum of Environment will be located on your left as you approach the main town area.
