If you are traveling by car from Muhazi Lake to Akagera Rhino Lodge, start by heading southeast on the main road that follows the lake. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Rwamagana-Kigali Road (A104). Turn left onto the A104 and follow it for about 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Akagera National Park. After passing the park entrance, continue straight until you see signs for Akagera Rhino Lodge on your right. The lodge is located at Nyagakonji Hill, next to the main entrance of Akagera National Park.
Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, start by taking a moto-taxi or a local bus from Muhazi Lake to Rwamagana town. This journey typically takes around 30 minutes and costs approximately 500 Rwandan Francs. Once in Rwamagana, you will need to take a bus heading toward Kigali, but inform the driver you wish to get off at the Akagera National Park entrance. The fare is usually around 1,000 Rwandan Francs.
