If you are driving, start from the main road along Muhazi Lake. Head east toward the town of Kayonza. After about 10 km, look for a sign indicating Samatare Caves. Turn left onto a dirt road that leads to the caves. Continue for about 3 km until you reach a parking area near the caves. Please note that the road may be bumpy, so drive carefully.

From any location around Muhazi Lake, take a moto-taxi or a bus heading toward Kayonza. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Samatare Caves (you may need to show them the location on a map or provide the coordinates - latitude -1.9968191, longitude 30.3372739). From the junction, you can hire another moto-taxi for the remaining 3 km to the caves. Expect to pay approximately 1,000 Rwandan Francs for the moto-taxi ride.
