If you're driving to Lake Muhazi, start your journey from Kigali. Take the RN3 road towards the east. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach a roundabout; take the second exit onto the RN4 road. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you see signs for Lake Muhazi. Turn left onto the access road, which will lead you directly to the shores of the lake. Ensure to keep your GPS handy for accurate navigation.

To reach Lake Muhazi via public transport, start at the Nyabugogo bus park in Kigali. Look for a bus heading to Rwamagana or Kayonza. The fare is typically around 1,000 RWF (Rwandan Francs). Once you reach Rwamagana, you will need to take a moto-taxi to the lake. The moto-taxi ride will cost about 2,000 RWF and takes around 20 minutes. Make sure to show the driver a map or mention 'Lake Muhazi' to ensure you reach the correct destination.

For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Lake Muhazi. Start from Kigali and follow the same route as for driving. The journey is about 45 kilometers and can take around 2-3 hours, depending on your speed. Bring water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way.
