Walking
From the center of Ruhengeri, start at the main market (Marché de Ruhengeri). Head north on Avenue de la Révolution for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 4. Turn left onto Route Nationale 4 and continue walking for another 2 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for local signage that may indicate directions to Mount Sabyinyo. After 2 kilometers, you will see a sign for the entrance to Mount Sabyinyo on your right. Follow the path from the entrance towards the base of the volcano.
