After approximately 15 km, you will reach the town of Musanze. From here, take the road heading towards the Gahinga Volcano trailhead. Look for signs directing you to the Gahinga Volcano hike. The trailhead is about 12 km from Musanze, and the drive takes around 30 minutes. Ensure you have a map or GPS as the roads can be tricky.

To reach Gahinga Volcano using public transportation, first, take a moto-taxi or a local bus from your accommodation in Volcanoes National Park to Musanze.
