Getting There

Walking
From the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram), head south towards King Abdul Aziz Road. Once you reach the road, turn left and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Al Madinah Road. Turn right onto Al Madinah Road and walk for about 1 kilometer until you see the signs for جبل الخندمة (Jabal al-Khandamah). Follow the signs which will lead you to a path up the mountain. The trail may be steep, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some physical activity.

Walking
If you are starting from the Ajyad area, walk towards the northern entrance of the Grand Mosque. From there, head east along Al Masjid Al Haram Street until you reach the intersection with Al Madinah Road. Turn left onto Al Madinah Road and continue as per the previous instructions. The route will take you through some busy market areas, so be mindful of your belongings.

You can take a bus from the central bus station in Mecca that goes towards Al Madinah Road. Get off at the stop closest to جبل الخندمة. Once you disembark, follow the signs for the mountain trail. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently.
