From Martin, head to the Martin bus station (Autobusová stanica Martin). You can take bus number 30 or 31 towards Ružomberok. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Ružomberok, žel.st.' stop. From there, transfer to bus number 20 towards Vlkolínec. This bus will take you directly to Vlkolínec. The total travel time from Martin to Vlkolínec should be around 1 hour.

From Martin, go to the Martin railway station (Železničná stanica Martin). Take a train towards Ružomberok. The train journey lasts about 20 minutes. After arriving at Ružomberok, exit the train station and walk to the bus stop nearby. Take bus number 20 towards Vlkolínec. This will take approximately 15 minutes. The total travel time using this route is about 50 minutes.

For those who enjoy walking, it is possible to hike from Martin to Vlkolínec, although this is a long trek of about 13 kilometers. Start from the center of Martin and follow the signs towards Ružomberok, taking the scenic route along the river.
