Getting There

  • Bus

    From the main bus station in Nova Gorica, take the bus toward Divača. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure you have the correct timings. You will disembark at the Divača bus stop. Once you arrive at Divača, you can walk to the Skocjan Caves, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Head northeast on Šempeterjeva Cesta, then turn left onto the main road (H4) and follow the signs toward Matavun.

  • Train

    From the Nova Gorica train station, take a train towards Sežana. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Divača train station. From Divača station, it is a 30-minute walk to the Skocjan Caves. Exit the station and head east on the main road (H4) until you reach the signs for Matavun. Follow the signs to the Skocjan Caves.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Nova Gorica. Head south from the city center towards the H4 road. Follow the H4 towards Divača. The distance is approximately 15 kilometers and should take about 1 hour. Once you reach Divača, follow the signs to Matavun, where the Skocjan Caves are located. The caves are about a 10-minute ride from the main road.
