From any point in Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, head towards the R532 road. If you are at the Blyde River Canyon viewpoint, exit the viewpoint area and turn left onto the R532. Continue on the R532 for approximately 16 km until you reach the T-junction. At the T-junction, turn left onto the R36 road. Drive for about 8 km, and you will see signs indicating Blyderivierpoort Dam. Follow the signs for about 5 km, and you will arrive at the Blyderivierpoort Dam entrance. Note that there may be a small entrance fee, typically around R20 per vehicle.

If you are using public transportation, you can take a taxi or a bus from Hoedspruit, which is the closest town to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. Look for a bus service that goes to the Blyde River area. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you may need to hire a local taxi to cover the remaining distance to Blyderivierpoort Dam, which is approximately 20 km away. Coordinate with your taxi driver to ensure they can take you directly to Blyderivierpoort Dam, and confirm the fare beforehand, which typically ranges from R200 to R300.
