Getting There

  If you're driving from central Cape Town, start by heading east on Buitengracht Street, which turns into the N2 highway. Follow the N2 for about 5 km until you reach the M3 exit towards Muizenberg. Merge onto the M3 and continue for approximately 10 km. Take the exit towards 'Table Mountain National Park.' After exiting, follow the signs to the 'Cableway' and 'Hiking Trails.' Continue on this route until you reach the parking area at the base of Devil's Peak. From the parking area, take the hiking path leading up to King's Blockhouse, which will be about a 1-1.5 hour walk. Be mindful of the terrain and wear suitable hiking shoes. Note: Parking might incur a fee, typically around R10 to R20.

  To reach King's Blockhouse using public transportation, start by taking the MyCiTi bus from the city center. Board the bus heading towards Hout Bay and get off at the 'Table Mountain Aerial Cableway' stop. From there, you can either hike directly to King's Blockhouse or take a taxi to the base of Devil's Peak. If you choose to hike, follow the signposted trails from the cableway station. The hike will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Ensure you check the bus schedules ahead of time and remember that the MyCiTi bus may charge around R10 to R50 depending on your route.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route without hiking immediately, consider using a taxi or ride-sharing service like Uber. From central Cape Town, input 'King's Blockhouse' or 'Devil's Peak' as your destination. The drive will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. This option is more expensive, typically costing between R100 and R200. Once dropped off at the base, you will need to hike up to the Blockhouse, which will take about 1-1.5 hours.
