Getting There

Car
From Cape Town, take the N1 towards Paarl. Merge onto the N2 towards Somerset West. Take the M3 exit towards Muizenberg. Continue on the M3 until you reach the Table Mountain National Park entrance. Follow the signs for the Cableway or the various hiking trails. To reach Dark Gorge, park at the Lower Cableway Station (there is a parking fee, approximately R15 for up to 2 hours). From the station, take the hiking trail leading up towards Platteklip Gorge, which will lead you towards Dark Gorge.

Public Transportation
Catch a MyCiTi bus from the Cape Town city center to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway station (Bus Stop: Aerial Cableway). The fare is around R50 one way. From the Cableway station, you will still need to hike to reach Dark Gorge. Follow the same trail as described for the car route, starting at the Lower Cableway Station. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
