Once inside the park, continue on the main road until you reach the turnoff for Mpempe Pan. This road may be unpaved, so drive carefully. Follow the signs to Mpempe Pan, which is about 15 kilometers from the main road.

For those using public transport, catch a bus from Durban to St. Lucia, which is the nearest town to iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The bus fare is approximately R200. After entering the park, you can ask the driver to take you directly to Mpempe Pan, or if you prefer to walk, it is about a 5-kilometer hike from the entrance.
