    From Charleston Waterfront Park, head south on Concord Street toward Calhoun Street. Continue walking on Concord Street until you reach the intersection with East Bay Street. Turn right onto East Bay Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street and continue walking. You will come to the market area where you can find several local shops and cafes if you wish to take a break. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with King Street. Turn right onto King Street and walk until you reach the end of the street. At the end of King Street, you will see a bus stop nearby.

    At the bus stop near the end of King Street, board the CARTA (Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority) bus number 10 (West Ashley). The fare for the bus is typically around $2.00. Make sure to have cash or a pre-loaded bus card. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop for Old Towne Road. From the bus stop, walk approximately 0.5 miles to the entrance of Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site located at 1500 Old Towne Rd. Follow the signs to the entrance.

  • Bike Rental

    If you prefer a quicker method, consider renting a bike. There are several bike rental shops around Charleston Waterfront Park. Rent a bike and head south on East Bay Street. Continue to follow the same route as the walking directions until you reach King Street, then follow King Street to the bus stop as described above. You can park your bike at designated bike racks once you reach Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site.
