Car
From Folly Beach, head northwest on Folly Road (SC-171) towards James Island. Continue on Folly Road for about 7 miles until you reach the intersection with the Maybank Highway (SC-700). Turn right onto Maybank Highway and continue for approximately 4 miles. Merge onto the James Island Connector (US-17) towards Charleston. After around 2 miles, take the exit towards East Bay Street, and follow the signs to the Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center. Note that parking is available at the Visitor Center for a fee, typically around $5.
