Walking
From the center of Mount Pleasant, head southwest on Main St toward W Broadway St for about 0.5 miles. When you reach the intersection with W Broadway St, turn left. Continue walking for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-17. Turn right onto US-17 and walk for approximately 0.3 miles. You will see a bus stop on the right side. Take the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus route 40 towards Charleston. The bus will take you directly to downtown Charleston where you can get off at the stop near Concord St. From there, walk east on Concord St for about 0.2 miles, and you will arrive at Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park at 340 Concord St.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Mount Pleasant. Start from the center and head southwest on Main St. After about 0.5 miles, take a left onto W Broadway St. Continue cycling straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-17. Make a right turn onto US-17 and cycle for approximately 0.3 miles to find a bike lane. Follow the bike lane into downtown Charleston. As you approach Concord St, continue straight until you reach the park located at 340 Concord St.

From any location in Mount Pleasant, find your way to the nearest CARTA bus stop. Board the bus on route 40 towards Charleston. The bus will take you to downtown Charleston. Once you arrive, disembark at the stop closest to Concord St. Walk east along Concord St for about 0.2 miles until you reach Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park at 340 Concord St.
