Car
If you are already in Francis Marion National Forest, head towards the nearest main road, which is US-17. Take US-17 North towards Awendaw. After approximately 15 miles, look for the signs for 'Bulls Island Ferry' on your right at the end of Lighthouse Rd. Turn onto Lighthouse Rd and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the ferry landing. There is a parking area available for visitors.

At the ferry landing, you will need to purchase a ticket for the Bulls Island Ferry, which typically operates from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekends and select weekdays. The ferry ride to Bulls Island takes approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as it may vary by season. Note that the ferry has limited capacity, so arriving early is recommended.

Once you arrive at Bulls Island, follow the marked trails to reach Boneyard Beach. The walk to the beach is about 1.5 miles from the ferry drop-off point. The trails are well-maintained, but be prepared for sandy paths and potentially uneven terrain. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water and sunscreen for your visit.
