Car
Start from any point in Francis Marion National Forest and head southwest on US-17 S towards Charleston. Continue on US-17 S for approximately 25 miles until you reach the intersection with SC-30 E. Take SC-30 E towards the Charleston Downtown area. Follow SC-30 E for about 5 miles until you reach the parking area for the Fort Sumter ferry located at the end of the road near Liberty Square. Note that parking may incur a fee of around $10 per day.

If you are using public transportation, first take a bus from the nearest bus stop in Francis Marion National Forest towards Charleston. You may need to transfer buses depending on your starting point. Once you arrive in downtown Charleston, walk to the Fort Sumter Visitor Center located at 340 Concord Street. From there, you will need to purchase a ticket for the ferry to Fort Sumter, which typically costs around $24 for adults and $12 for children. The ferry ride will take approximately 30 minutes.
