Walking
From Mount Rushmore National Memorial, exit the memorial grounds and head towards SD-244 E. Walk down SD-244 E for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-16A. Continue straight on SD-244 E, which will turn into a scenic pathway leading you towards Keystone. Follow the pathway for another 2 miles, enjoying the sights of the Black Hills. Once you arrive in Keystone, look for Winter St on your right. Turn onto Winter St and walk approximately 0.2 miles. The 1880 Train - Keystone Depot will be on your left at 103 Winter St, Keystone, SD 57751.
Public Transportation
From Mount Rushmore, you can take a local shuttle service or bus to Keystone. Check with local visitor centers for the latest schedules and routes. Once you arrive in Keystone, disembark at the main stop in the town center. From there, walk down to Winter St, which is about a 5-minute walk. The 1880 Train - Keystone Depot is located at 103 Winter St, on your left.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, exit Mount Rushmore National Memorial and take the bike path along SD-244 E. This path offers a safe route through the scenic Black Hills. After approximately 0.5 miles, you'll reach US-16A. Continue biking on SD-244 E for about 2 miles until you enter Keystone. Once in town, turn onto Winter St, and bike for another 0.2 miles.
