Start at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center. From the visitor center, exit and head south on SD-244 toward the main entrance of the memorial. Walk towards the main viewing area where you can see the iconic carvings. After taking in the sights, continue walking south on SD-244 for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with SD-87.
