Walking
If you are starting from the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center, exit the visitor center and head south towards the main pathway. Continue straight along the path until you reach the main plaza area where you can see the iconic faces of Mount Rushmore. From the plaza, turn right and walk towards the park's exit. After you leave the park grounds, continue walking along SD-244. The Mount Rushmore Gift Shop is located at 13000 SD-244, approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the main entrance of the memorial.
