From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center, exit towards SD-244. Head west on SD-244 for about 0.5 miles. You will pass by the parking area and the main entrance of the memorial. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with SD-16. Take a left onto SD-16, and continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles. You'll notice the scenic views of the Black Hills around you. As you walk, pay attention to the road signs that will guide you towards Keystone. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will arrive at Keystone. From the main street in Keystone, look for SD-40, which will be to your right. Turn onto SD-40 and follow it for about 3 miles. Rushmore Cave will be located on your left at 13622 SD-40.
