If you are driving from the Gwandong Region, take Route 1 (Gyeongbu Expressway) towards Seoul. Keep an eye on the signs for 'Seoul' and follow the expressway for approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you reach downtown Seoul, follow the signs to Jongno-gu. Use a GPS or a map app to navigate to 99 Yulgok-ro, Jongno District, where Changdeokgung is located. Parking is available near the palace, but it may fill up quickly, so plan to arrive early.

To reach Changdeokgung using public transportation, start by taking an intercity bus or train from your location in the Gwandong Region to Seoul. The KTX train from Gangneung Station to Seoul Station takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once at Seoul Station, transfer to Line 1 (the blue line) of the Seoul Subway and head to Jongno 3-ga Station. From Jongno 3-ga Station, transfer to Line 5 (the purple line) and get off at Jongno 3-ga Station, Exit 6. Walk straight for about 10 minutes to reach Changdeokgung at 99 Yulgok-ro, Jongno District.
