Getting There

• Bus

  From Gwangju Bus Terminal, take Bus No. 311 toward Damyang. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Damyang Bus Station, exit the bus and look for local taxis. You can also take Bus No. 311-1 from the same terminal if you prefer. Board the bus and remain on it until you reach the Soswaewon stop. After getting off, walk approximately 500 meters south along Soswaewon-gil to reach Soswaewon Garden.

• Taxi

  From the center of Gwangju (such as the Gwangju Art Street), you can easily hail a taxi. Show the driver the address: '17 Soswaewon-gil, Gasamunhak-myeon, Damyang-gun.' The drive will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. This is the most convenient option if you are traveling with luggage or prefer direct transport.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from a rental shop in Gwangju. Head towards the Gwangju River and follow the cycling paths that lead toward Damyang. The distance is about 20 kilometers, which will take around 1.5 hours to cycle. Once you reach Damyang, follow the signs towards Soswaewon Garden, which is in the northwestern part of the area. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.

• Walking (from Damyang Station)

  If you are already in Damyang, you can walk to Soswaewon Garden from Damyang Station. Exit the station and head east on Damyang-ro. After about 1.5 kilometers, turn left onto Soswaewon-gil. The garden will be on your right after another 500 meters. This walk takes about 25-30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the local scenery along the way.
