Depending on your exact location within Buk-gu, you can use Google Maps for precise directions. Generally, you can walk towards the north until you reach the Gwangju City Hall area, which is about 20-30 minutes away on foot. From City Hall, continue walking east towards Dong-gu, following the signs leading to Gwangsan-dong.

You can also take a local bus to get to Gwangju Castle. Look for a bus stop nearby and check the bus routes. Buses like No. 30, 35, or 518 are good options to get to Dong-gu. Make sure to confirm the bus number that stops closest to Gwangsan-dong. The bus fare is approximately 1,200 KRW per ride. Once you get off at the nearest stop to Gwangsan-dong, you may need to walk about 10-15 minutes following the main road towards the castle.

Alternatively, you can use the Gwangju subway system. Take Line 1 (the orange line) and get off at Gwangju Station. From Gwangju Station, you can either take a taxi or a bus to reach Gwangsan-dong. If you choose to take a bus, check for routes that head towards Gwangsan-dong. The subway fare will cost you around 1,500 KRW. After getting off at the appropriate stop, it's about a 10-minute walk to the castle.
