Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Seoraksan National Park, located along Seoraksan-ro. Drive straight along Seoraksan-ro for approximately 10 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Waseondae. There is a parking area available near Waseondae, but note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared to pay a nominal fee for parking.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, begin your journey at the Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal. From there, take a local bus heading towards Seoraksan National Park. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the park's main entrance, you can either walk (approximately 3 kilometers) or take a shuttle bus (if available) to Waseondae. Please check local schedules for the shuttle bus, as they may vary. Keep in mind that you may need to pay a small fare for the shuttle bus.
Hiking/Walking
If you are already in the park and wish to hike to Waseondae, you can start from the main visitor center. Follow the marked trails leading to Waseondae. The hike is approximately 2-3 kilometers and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
