From the city center of Barcelona, head to the Plaça de Catalunya station. Here, take the FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) train on the line R5 towards Manresa. The train will take you through beautiful countryside views. Stay on the train for about 1 hour until you reach the Montserrat-Aeri station. Once you arrive, you can either take the cable car or the funicular to the top of Montserrat, where the Abadia de Montserrat is located.

From Plaça de Catalunya, you can catch the direct bus to Montserrat. Look for the 'Montserrat Bus' which generally departs from the same area. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary during the week and on weekends. The bus will drop you off close to the entrance of the Abadia de Montserrat.
