Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Girona, head to the 'Estació d'Autobusos de Girona' (bus station). You can walk there from the city center, which takes about 15-20 minutes. Look for the bus line heading towards Santa Pau. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Santa Pau bus stop, you will need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach Castell de Santa Pau. To do this, head towards 'Carrer Vila Vella' and follow the signs to the castle.

• Train and Bus

  From Girona, take a train from 'Estació de Girona' to Olot. Trains run frequently, and the ride takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Olot, go to the bus station and catch a local bus to Santa Pau. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. When you arrive at the Santa Pau bus stop, walk to 'Carrer Vila Vella' where the castle is located, which is about a 1-kilometer walk.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle in Girona from any of the local bike rental shops. From the city center, head towards the 'Passeig de la Devesa' and follow the cycle paths leading towards the countryside. The route to Santa Pau is scenic and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Santa Pau, navigate to 'Carrer Vila Vella' to find Castell de Santa Pau.

• Walking

  If you prefer a longer hike, you can walk from Girona to Santa Pau, which is approximately 25 kilometers. Start from the city center and follow the path towards the countryside, taking the GR-2 trail. This scenic route will take around 5-6 hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Once you arrive in Santa Pau, head to 'Carrer Vila Vella' to find the castle.
