Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from the main access point of Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, which is located near Torla. Take the A-135 road towards Broto and then follow the signs to France. Continue on the N-260 road towards Gavarnie. After crossing the border into France, follow the D921 road until you reach the village of Gavarnie. From Gavarnie, take the D923 road towards the parking area (Parking de la Pradera) which is the starting point for the hike to Gavarnie Falls. The total driving distance is approximately 30 km and it will take around 45 minutes. Note that there may be parking fees at the trailhead.

Public Transport
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from the town of Broto or Torla to Gavarnie. Look for the 'Autobuses de los Pirineos' service, which operates routes to Gavarnie. The bus ride will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially during the off-peak season. Once you arrive in Gavarnie, you can walk to the trailhead for Gavarnie Falls, which is approximately a 30-minute hike from the village center.

After reaching the Gavarnie parking area, you will need to hike to Gavarnie Falls. The hike is approximately 1.5 km one way and takes about 30-45 minutes. Follow the clearly marked trails that lead you through stunning scenery, including views of the surrounding mountains. The path is well-maintained but can be steep in some sections, so wear appropriate footwear and be prepared for varying weather conditions.
