Getting There

• Bus

  From Segovia, head to the Segovia Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses de Segovia), which is located near the city center. You can reach the bus station by walking or taking a local bus. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket for a bus to San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the bus frequency may vary. Upon arrival at San Lorenzo de El Escorial, exit the bus station and head towards the main road, Carretera de Guadarrama. The Basilica of the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen is approximately 3 km away from the bus station. You can either take a taxi from the bus station or walk to the basilica by following the road signs.

  Start at Segovia's train station (Estación de Tren de Segovia). Take a train to the nearest major station, which may be either Villalba or El Escorial, depending on the available routes. If you arrive at El Escorial, the basilica is about 6 km away, so consider taking a taxi or checking local bus options for that segment.

  If you prefer a scenic route and are up for a hike, you can walk from San Lorenzo de El Escorial to the Basilica. From the town center, head northwest along the Carretera de Guadarrama.
