Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the Badulla town center. Head west on the A5 road towards Hali-Ela. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach Hali-Ela Junction. At the junction, take a left onto the B25 road towards Idalgashinna. Follow the B25, which will lead you through beautiful tea plantations and scenic landscapes. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will arrive at Idalgashinna. Look for the location marker 'QVHQ+XVF, Road, Idalgashinna' on your GPS or map application for exact coordinates.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Badulla to Hali-Ela, which operates frequently. The bus fare is around 50 LKR. Once you reach Hali-Ela, you will need to transfer to a bus heading towards Idalgashinna. This leg of the journey will cost you approximately 30 LKR. The total travel time using public transport is about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the waiting times for transfers. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Idalgashinna, as it is a popular stop.
Taxi
Alternatively, hiring a taxi from Badulla to Idalgashinna can be a convenient option, especially for groups. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes, and the fare should be negotiated beforehand; expect to pay around 1500-2000 LKR. You can find taxis near the central bus station or book a ride through a local taxi service. Ensure to confirm the destination before starting your trip.
