Car
If you're driving from Badulla town, head southeast on A5 towards the Badulla-Mahiyanganaya road. Continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction at Hali Ela. Take a left turn onto the B35 road, which leads towards the Uva Province. Drive approximately 10 kilometers along this road until you see the sign for Kite Mountain (සරුංගල් කන්ද). The last few kilometers will involve a winding road, so drive carefully. You can park at the base of the mountain.
Public Transportation
From Badulla town, take a bus heading towards Hali Ela. Buses leave frequently and the fare is approximately 50 LKR. Inform the conductor that you wish to get off at the junction for Kite Mountain (සරුංගල් කන්ද). Once you get off, you may need to walk about 2 kilometers along a path leading to the base of the mountain. Alternatively, you can hire a tuk-tuk from the junction to take you directly to the base for around 300-400 LKR.
Walking
For those who want to experience the local scenery, after reaching the junction from Badulla, you can opt to walk the remaining 2 kilometers to Kite Mountain (සරුංගල් කන්ද). The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
