From any location in Bentota, you can easily find a tuk-tuk. Simply ask your hotel staff or a local for assistance in hailing one. Once you are in the tuk-tuk, tell the driver you want to go to 'Madu River Boat Safari' located in Balapitiya. The driver will know the place as it is a popular tourist attraction. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, you can take a public bus from Bentota to Balapitiya. Head to the main bus station in Bentota, which is located near the railway station. Look for buses going towards Balapitiya (they are usually marked with the name on the front). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you reach Balapitiya, ask the conductor to stop at 'Madu Ganga' or look for signs leading to the river. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the boat safari entrance.

For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle from one of the shops in Bentota. After renting, head towards the A2 highway and cycle in the direction of Balapitiya. The ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Keep an eye out for local signs directing you to Madu River.
