Car
If you're driving from Kandy, take the A26 road heading towards Matale. Continue for about 25 kilometers until you reach Matale. In Matale, follow the signs for the A9 road towards Dambulla. After approximately 10 kilometers, turn onto the Pitawala Road (a small road on your right) which leads you directly to Riverston. Follow this road for about 8 kilometers until you reach the Riverston Basecamp. Ensure your vehicle has good ground clearance as the road can be bumpy.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Kandy, take a bus from the Kandy Bus Station to Matale. The journey takes around 30-45 minutes and costs approximately 50 LKR. Once in Matale, catch a local bus heading towards Dambulla and ask the conductor to drop you off at Pitawala. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes and cost around 30 LKR. From the Pitawala bus stop, it's about a 1.5-kilometer walk to Riverston Basecamp. You might consider hiring a tuk-tuk for this last stretch for about 300 LKR.

If you prefer a more comfortable option, consider booking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service from Kandy directly to Riverston.
