Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from Kandy and head towards the Knuckles Mountain Range via the Hunnasgiriya road (A26). Follow the signs towards the Knuckles Conservation Forest. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the entrance of the conservation area where you may need to pay an entrance fee (around 1000 LKR per person). Continue along the main road until you reach the trailhead at the base of Manigala, where you can park your vehicle. The last stretch involves a short hike up the mountain trail to reach Manigala, which offers breathtaking views.

Public Transportation
From Kandy, take a bus heading towards Hunnasgiriya. The bus ride costs around 100-150 LKR and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Get off at the Hunnasgiriya junction. From the junction, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk (costing around 500 LKR) to take you to the entrance of the Knuckles Conservation Area. After paying the entrance fee (around 1000 LKR), you can start your hike towards Manigala. The trek is about 5 km from the entrance and can take 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
